Winston’s belief pertaining to the party is that it will bring eminent doom that is utterly unavoidable. Julia believes that doom can be temporarily avoided as long as one goes about something correctly. Winston has demonstrated his ability to look at the big picture many times. When Julia suggested that he should have pushed his wife over the cliff, and when she offered herself to him to prevent him from explaining how death is eminent. Julia’s youth prevents her from attaining proper foresight and as a result has a different method of dealing with the party than Winston.
